# Send an ongoing periodic distribution

Ongoing periodic distributions are not available yet in Pristo CX. Survey contacts regularly with an event-based distribution and send spacing instead.

**Ongoing/Periodic Questionnaire** distributions are not available yet in Pristo CX. The distribution editor shows the option, but you cannot select it. To survey the same contacts regularly, use an [event-based distribution](https://docs.pristo.io/cx/distributions/event-based) with send spacing, as described below, or send a new [one-time delivery](https://docs.pristo.io/cx/distributions/one-time-delivery) each period.

## Before you start

- Role: account admin or program admin. See [roles and permissions](https://docs.pristo.io/cx/users/roles-and-permissions).
- Plan: the **Distributions** page appears under **Management** on the Pro plan.
- Setup: an event type for the interactions you report, such as a visit or a purchase, and a way to report them by import or [through the API](https://docs.pristo.io/cx/api/send-an-event).

## Steps

These steps survey each contact after an activity, but no more often than the spacing you choose.

1. Start a new distribution and choose the questionnaire, as described in [Create a distribution](https://docs.pristo.io/cx/distributions/create-a-distribution).

2. On the **Main** tab, select **Event-Based Questionnaire** and choose the event types under **Trigger events**.

3. Set the sending windows under **Schedule Delivery**, choose the **Anonymity Level** and select **Next**.

4. On the **Samples** tab, set the second rule under **Distribution Rules** to the shortest time between two questionnaires to the same contact, for example 90 days for once a quarter.

5. Optionally set the first rule too, so contacts who received any questionnaire from your account recently are skipped. Select **Next**.

6. Write the message on the **Wording** tab, select **Next** to save, and activate the distribution from the menu in its row.

## Result

Each contact receives the questionnaire after a matching activity, and Pristo CX skips that contact for this distribution until the spacing has passed.

## Limits

- Send spacing: 0, 1, 3, 7, 10, 14, 21, 30, 60, 90 or 180 days.
- Pristo CX does not sample a percentage of contacts. Every contact who matches the event types, filters, segment and rules receives the questionnaire.

## Troubleshooting

**I cannot select Ongoing/Periodic Questionnaire.** This is expected. The type is not available yet.
